Baking Gals #1 (for me, anyway)

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I hope you’re all surrounded by love and happiness today and every day!

This past week was the first time I participated with Operation Baking Gals, and it was really exciting for me. I stumbled upon this post from Brown Eyed Baker while going through her archives for recipes, and it was something that really stuck with me. I researched more about the group and I was really excited to participate with them for the first time this past round.

These women have an organized system for sending homemade baked goods to the servicemen and women who are stationed out of the country. Sending homemade goods is a great reminder not only of home, but that there are people all over the world that are thinking of them. I sent out Oreos, since I’ve been on a kick lately, because those always speak to me of home. I felt baking and shipping cookies was the least I could do for some of the men and women who are serving and protecting our country, and I was proud to be a part of the operation this time around. I can’t wait until next month!
